Thanks for a great 2012

San Jose wedding photography

There’s a lot of reasons that I feel fortunate. I have a loving wife, great friends, a career that allows me to be creative.

I also feel very fortunate for the incredible people who trust me to document one of the most important days of their lives. I get hired by the coolest couples, people who I would love to know even if I wasn’t their wedding photographer. I am constantly amazed by this and feel very fortunate that it’s true.

As I reflect on 2012 and prepare for 2013, I want to extend a huge thank you to everybody who brought me to their awesome weddings this past year. It was an honor and a privilege.

I also want to thank all the guests I chatted with at the reception, the best men who stood by a flash to prevent the wind from blowing it over, the maids of honor who found the uncle who hadn’t shown up yet for the group photo, the caterers who found me some silverware so I could grab a bite to eat, the wedding planners who kept scores of people at bay while I got a quick shot of the reception hall before anyone sat down for dinner, the DJs who gave me a heads-up before the first dance was announced, the venue managers who told me where the bride would be waiting before the ceremony, and all the people who helped make the adventure that is a wedding day a little more fun.

Thank you all.

People get married in Monterey in September because there’s less chance of being subjected to Monterey’s pervasive fog. The cold wet stuff was polite on that Saturday and decided to stay away until after the ceremony’s conclusion, providing a gorgeous blue background for a touching ceremony.

Veronica & Noe’s Salinas wedding

I knew the party at Veronica & Noe’s wedding reception would be a great one when I walked into Bayonet Black Horse and saw that the dance floor was twice the size of what it is usually.

They made use of it — Veronica, Noe, and their friends and family danced the night away as music played and lights flashed.

Janelle & Jeff’s Monterey Peninsula wedding

When I first met Janelle & Jeff on a Skype call from their home in Georgia, they told me they wanted their have their Monterey Peninsula wedding on the beach, take photos in the trees and end at a karaoke bar. Now if that doesn’t sound like an awesome time, I don’t know what does.
