Lupe & Joe’s Big Sur River Inn wedding was a beautiful, relaxed and super fun day, a classic Big Sur experience filled with personal details and sweet moments.
In the days leading up to the wedding, the weather forecast was ominous: At times we were looking at a 90% chance of rain during the ceremony. No worry, Big Sur is beautiful in any kind of weather. And the ceremony could be moved inside if the weather was too uncomfortable.
So when the day came, we were amazed and grateful to be looking at patches of blue sky as we walked on the dry purple sand of Pfeiffer Beach. Lupe and Joe showed their adventurousness by climbing some of the jagged rocks on the beach as the surf crashed below, providing some dramatic views and my favorite portraits of the day.
Back at the Big Sur River Inn, the ceremony was sweet and personal, with Joe’s dad officiating and Lupe’s family doing readings. After toasts and a delicious dinner, much fun was had on the dance floor — including by the youngest guests at the party, who had some of the best little kid dance moves I’ve ever seen.
Overall it was a beautiful day in one of my favorite places for a wedding. Check out my favorite images from Lupe & Joe’s Big Sur River Inn wedding in the gallery below.
