Susan and Eric decided to visit Big Sur during their pre-wedding vacation, and decided to hire me to photograph their engagement session there. We made the session an epic trip down the coast, a Big Sur engagement session that made stops at some of the most iconic scenes the area has to offer.
Prior to our session, Susan and Eric sent me some examples of Big Sur engagement photos that they liked. Using them as a guide, I put together a schedule that would allow us to visit locations from Garrapata State Park all the way south to Partington Cove, with stops in between at the Bixby Bridge, the Big Sur River, Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, and a coastal cliff south of the Big Sur valley.
It was quite an adventure, and we had a great time. Susan and Eric were wonderful subjects, taking it in stride when our path got steep or muddy or when the wind nearly blew the doors off our cars when we stopped to get out.
A special thanks to my friend Michelle, who came along to help with lighting. Her help was instrumental, especially at the end of the session, when we caught a beautiful deep blue sunset sky on the rocky coastline of Partington Cove.
