When Jess & Ty first contacted me about wedding photography, they said they appreciated my stated affinity for rowdy receptions, and said they were planning to have quite a party at their Quail Lodge Carmel Valley wedding.

They did not disappoint. But in addition to a great party, they also had a day full of love and sentiment, with a ceremony that made some tears flow and a reception with some very heartfelt speeches.

And we had such a good time. Lots of laughs and no stress. Ty even managed to tame an irritated goose that was honking loudly at us during group pictures.

Quail Lodge is a gorgeous venue, and for Jess & Ty’s wedding they had it decorated beautifully, including a custom donut wall that tempted everyone all through dinner. At sunset we got the kind of light that makes California deserve its nickname of The Golden State, resulting in sun-drenched scenes like the one at the top of this blog post.
