Before Jennie & Mike’s Olympia’s Valley Estate wedding, I was so excited to return to the Petaluma venue — After just one wedding there last year, the farm became one of my all-time favorite venues. And while the venue was amazing again, it was the wonderful people at Jennie & Mike wedding who made it so memorable.
Let me give you my favorite example. Mike’s brothers and sisters prepared and performed a song about the couple, set to the tune of Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline.” They handed out lyric sheets and got everyone at the reception to sing along. It was hilarious, and touching, and a very memorable and unique addition to the wedding.
Everything else about the day was perfect, too. The weather was phenomenal, and the hills were still green. There was great music, rustic decorations, four super-adorable flower girls, touching speeches, fun dancing, and even an archway of guests’ arms for the couple to run through at the end of the night (a surprise put together on the spot by wedding planner Sarah Warner.
I could go on and on, but I’ll let the pictures show you the rest of the wedding. One last thing I want to mention: At the end of the night, while saying some goodbyes, Jennie’s brother said that my second shooter Conner and I felt more like guests at the wedding than vendors. Those kind of compliments mean so much to me as a wedding photographer. And come to think of it, everybody at Jennie & Mike’s Olympia’s Valley Estate wedding made us feel like guests as well.
