I have a lot of things to say about Matt & Shane’s San Jose wedding at the Corinthian Grand Ballroom, but let me start with a quick overview of this incredible event: The couple put together a beautiful and fun day that was a touching and personal celebration of their love for each other.

Matt & Shane’s wedding had a few things that I’ve never seen another couple do: Live-streaming video of the wedding, a lighting company that kept the high walls of the Corinthian Grand Ballroom changing colors all night, and a pair of club DJs — Crown D and Kue — spinning records and keeping the dancefloor moving.

There were tears, there was laughter, there was a surprise first dance on a balcony far above the guests. There were sparklers after dark on the stone steps of the wedding venue. There were dozens and dozens of props for the self-portrait station. And there was even a giant projection of the couple’s name on the curtain of the stage where they got married.

I brought the talented Conner Jay along as a second shooter to help me capture all this. You’ll see much of his work in this blog post, especially in the energetic dancefloor photos.
